H116   A yunomi by Hamada Shoji.

A yunomi with combed lines and Kaki glaze. The combed lines are highlighted with wax resist.  The Kaki glaze is synonymous with Mashiko and particularly with the work of Hamada. The Kaki glaze was and is still made from a single ingredient…a local building stone finely ground and used as an overglaze with a more fluid and shinier glaze underneath.

3.25 inches tall.
