H183 A waisted vase by Hamada Shoji.
The scale of this pot is not easy to convey in a photograph. Hamada made these waisted vases in a variety of sizes and with different glazes and decorative techniques. This is a substantial and impressive piece standing at 8.5 inches tall. It has a Nuka glaze with brushwork in iron pigment. The Nuka has melted to soften the brush pattern.
