HJ137  A Yunomi by Hamada Shoji

Hamada was once asked why he used the same motif over and over again….’couldn’t you do something different’? he was asked. Hamada’s reply was that the motif was different every time he did it. He said that his arm, the day, the feeling all contributed and there was always variation.

This yunomi has Hamada’s iconic broken straw motif and of all his various designs for the yunomi this one is by far the most popular.

3.5 inches tall.

With a signed and sealed wooden box by Shinsaku Hamada.
