HJ138 A box or Kogo by Hamada Shoji.
A small box or, in Japanese terms a Kogo, is a small container for incense used during the tea ceremony. This particular form and decoration was one that Hamada repeated often. A clear pale celadon glaze has been banded with iron pigment and then two iron pigments used for the motif on the lid.
A little gem.
