H198 A yunomi by Hamada Shoji.
A classic yunomi by Hamada Shoji.
Hamada was once asked why he repeated this motif so many times….that didn’t he get bored with it. His reply was…and i paraphrase….that each time he did it it was different….a different day meant a different movement of the arm….that’s why he never got bored with it….every time he made the movements it was never the same as the time before.
This is a particularly fine example…lustrous iron pigment on a watery celadon with a delicate pale green colour.
Comes with a signed and sealed wooden box.
