H313 A tall bottle by Shoji Hamada.
A bottle with Nuka glaze. Looking at the form and the way the foot has been trimmed I believe this bottle to be from around 1940 or so maybe a little earlier..
A piece with a monumental almost sculptural presence.
As can be seen in the photograph there is a little kiln damage around the foot. It is of little consequence…it can’t be seen when the pot is standing and it is a scar inflicted during firing and not since. The foot is smooth and the pot stands perfectly square.
Comes with a signed and sealed wooden box.
