PR416 A Tear Drop shape bottle with a paddled decoration.
What I call a ‘tear drop’ bottle is a shape that one often sees in Korean ceramics and particularly in those pots from the Buncheong period of the 15th and 16th centuries. This piece has a paddled decoration that is done when the pot is wet and during the throwing stage. The pine ash glaze is fluid and pools on the raised lines where it changes colour and texture.
10.5 inches tall.
